UA All-American Davis Stops By UVa

The University of Virginia is one of 21 scholarship offers The Villages Charter (The Villages, FL) linebacker Noor Davis has received. The Cavaliers certainly have company, as Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame and USC are among the other schools that have offered as well. Davis, who lived in the D.C. area for about 10 years before moving to the Sunshine State, made Charlottesville one of his college stops recently.

“We had Spring Break [the week of March 14-18], and he and his dad took off and saw five or six schools. UVa was one of them,” The Villages Charter head coach Richard Pettus said, referring to Davis.

Boston College, Florida, Harvard, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Purdue are other schools the talented junior has toured so far, but a decision isn’t likely to come soon. In fact, a decision may not come until after five official visits have been made. Davis, it appears, is very much in the evaluation stage.

“Everybody has a legit chance. I really do believe that,” said Pettus, who helped Davis send out highlight DVDs to over 100 schools. “This summer, I think he’ll give it a lot more thought. I think he’ll take official visits. I think he will narrow it down to the five official visits this summer.”
