UVa First To Offer Fork Union Lineman

Fork Union Military Academy postgraduate head coach John Shuman has a history of getting solid players from Canada. Offensive linemen Austin Pasztor , who will be a 4-year starter for the University of Virginia, and Jacob Ruby (University of Richmond) come to mind, and Coach Shuman boasts another promising line prospect this upcoming season.

“He actually has already been offered by Virginia,” Shuman said, referring to 6’3″, 305-pound Ryan Doull , a product of All Saints Catholic School in Kanata, Ontario. “We were able to bring him in this January. He played lacrosse this spring. He was able to do some stuff this spring. UVa has presented him with a good opportunity. He will come back next year and play for us. We’re happy about that.”

Most of Doull’s football experience is as a defensive tackle, but he is expected to play on the offensive line at FUMA this coming season. Shuman first spotted the 2012 class prospect last June at a combine.

“He has quickness. He’s big, fast, and strong,” Shuman said. “He has played a lot of football and a lot of lacrosse. He’s fast, big, strong and smart.”
