Over the last decade, UVa has had its fair share of stars at the tight end position. This season, it is not clear that there is a “star” among the tight ends but there is decent quality, there is diversity of skills, and there is solid depth.

The Starters

Coming out of the spring, Colter Phillips, Paul Freedman , and Jeremiah Mathis were listed together atop the depth chart. I expect each of the three to play important roles in 2011.
