On the one hand, it feels like all of last year’s starting linebackers are back. On the other hand, it feels like we are starting from scratch with an all-new starting unit at linebacker. Which perspective is right? Both, I think. Similarly, there are a couple of perspectives one can have on the overall outlook for the unit and again, I am not sure either is wrong.

The Starters

I expect the starters to be Steve Greer , LaRoy Reynolds, and Aaron Taliaferro . All three have started a substantial number of games for the Hoos … but the catch is that not one of them was the starter in game one last year at the same position at which he is likely to start game one this year.
