Stith Commits To Hoos

Virginia fans certainly know the name Stith very well. Bryant Stith starred for the Cavaliers from 1989-1992, becoming the program’s all-time leading scorer in that time period. Virginia fans will get to see another Stith take the court for the orange and blue, as yesterday Bryant’s son B.J. accepted a scholarship offer from head coach Tony Bennett.

A 6’4″ combo guard, B.J. Stith is a rising sophomore for 2011 Division 3 state champion Brunswick High School (Lawrenceville, VA).

Along with his brother, Brandan (a rising junior), B.J. was invited to and participated in UVa’s Elite Camp this past June. With his brother and father, he returned to Charlottesville yesterday and was in attendance for the William & Mary/Virginia football game. While on grounds, he met with Coach Bennett and committed.

Stith becomes the first 2014 class prospect to commit to the Hoos. Another 2014 class standout, Cape Henry Collegiate (Norfolk, VA) guard Devon Hall , was also in attendance yesterday. Like Stith, Hall participated in UVa’s 2011 Elite Camp.
