Three items really stand out from Saturday’s 40-3 win against William & Mary: efficiency, patience and line play. Let’s take a closer look with “Greg’s Game Report,” a long-time feature here on TheSabre.com that has been revamped and renewed as a new era of UVa football begins to rise.

Still, a 40-3 win over an FCS team may not impress a lot of folks; Virginia Tech beat the 4th-ranked FCS opponent at home by 53 points. UNC took out No. 15 JMU by 32 in Chapel Hill. N.C. State beat No. 22 Liberty by 22 points. So what does a 37-point win over FCS No. 2 mean? Not much and a win over Indiana next week may not mean much more. The Hoos need to win in Bloomington next Saturday, that is a given, but we’re not going to learn how good this club is until weeks three and four against UNC and Southern Miss. But it sure was a nice start.
