Virginia needs to score when the opportunity presents itself and stop the opposition from scoring. Sorry for the obvious analysis but it’s not much simpler than that. Stopping teams from scoring begins with stopping big plays in the running game and passing game. The Tar Heels rushed for a season-high 222 yards, their highest figure since rushing for 255 in the 2010 regular season finale at Duke. Carolina also connected on seven passing plays of 15 yards or greater and produced eight runs of 11 yards or more against the Hoos, accounting for 70% of its offensive output on the day.
