Johns Reflects On First UVa Game Experience

Matt Johns

Central Bucks South (Warrington, PA) quarterback Matt Johns , one of 24 high school seniors committed to the University of Virginia football program, had never seen a game at Scott Stadium until this past Saturday. Despite Virginia’s 6-point loss to Southern Miss, the day was a good one.

“It was really cool,” Johns said of the experience. “It was pretty wild in the stands. I was into it and everything. I got to hang out with [DeMatha Catholic defensive end] Mike Moore and [St. Joseph (N.J.) athlete] Max Valles . It was cool getting to sit with them at the game and talk and observe from a different angle. I felt welcomed there. The coaches had everything planned out. The day was organized. We got to meet with Coach London before the game, when we had lunch. I spoke with Coach Faragalli and Coach Lazor. It was nice to see them.”
