When the Virginia football program signed one of the nation’s top 25 recruiting classes in February, a lot of fans – hungry for success of any kind with the Hoos – immediately started to dream of what those youngsters could bring to the table this fall. Through five games, the true freshmen have piled up opportunities as UVa has posted a 3-2 record. The results, not surprisingly, have been mixed. Look no further than Saturday’s 21-20 overtime win against Idaho for proof.

True freshmen David Watford and Dominique Terrell provide the perfect example of true freshmen making both good and bad plays. The best play for the two on the day proved to be the game’s decisive score. The duo connected on the game-winning touchdown pass in overtime.
