Recruiting Notes: Important Weekend Ahead

This weekend will be a big one on the recruiting front. Football-wise, prospects ranging from high school sophomores to high school seniors will be in attendance for the big ACC match-up against no. 12 Georgia Tech. The only official visitor expected on grounds is Nathan Staub , a 6’2″, 220-pound fullback/linebacker out of Buford High School in Georgia, but many other notable prospects should be there unofficially.

California, Harvard, North Carolina and Virginia are the main contenders vying for Staub, who took an official visit to UNC in September (the weekend of the Virginia game). The Cavaliers and Tar Heels appear to be in strong position with the promising senior, who has said consistently that he would like to visit all four schools before committing. That probably sits well with the Virginia coaches, who have limited spots remaining in the class of 2012 and don’t seem to be pushing Staub to make a decision right now.
