Shuman Talks UVa Recruits Doull, Gamble

The regular season is over for Fork Union Military Academy’s (VA) postgraduate football squad, which finished 7-1 and had two wins over in-state rival Hargrave Military Academy. UVa had two recruits on the squad, interior offensive line prospect Adrian Gamble , and postgrad head coach John Shuman speaks highly of both prospects.

Doull, technically a high school senior but able to play on the postgraduate team, enrolled at Fork Union last winter out of All Saints Catholic in Kanata, Ontario, Canada. He saw action at offensive guard and offensive tackle last season for the Ottawa Sooners football club, but he started at offensive guard for Shuman this season.

“Doull is a very good, physical player,” Shuman said. “He’s a good puller. He’s smart and kind of savvy. I like him a lot. He had some midseason aches and pains, so I backed off of him, but he got ready for the final stretch and finished up the season strong. He has good hand placement. He’ll fit in well with what Virginia is doing on the offensive line.”

Virginia recruited the 6’4″, 305-pound Doull as an interior offensive lineman. He certainly has experience at offensive guard, though center could be an option as well.
