Morgan Ready For Final High School Game

On Thanksgiving Day, Kye Morgan will take the field for the final time for the Franklin (Somerset, N.J.) varsity football squad. Already the school’s all-time leader in career rushing yards and rushing touchdowns, the 5’11”, 175-pound tailback is looking to lead the Warriors to a win over rival Piscataway before he looks ahead to the next step in his football career.

“We had a good season,” Morgan said. Franklin is 6-3 heading into Thursday’s match-up. “It could’ve been better. We should be playing for a championship, but things happen. I enjoyed playing with my team. It was fun. I don’t regret anything about this season.

“This game will be fun. We play for a trophy. It’s a huge rivalry game.”

In addition to those career marks, Morgan holds single game school records for rushing yards (287) and carries (38). He set the latter two marks as a sophomore in 2009.
