On Thanksgiving Day, Kye Morgan will take the field for the final time for the Franklin (Somerset, N.J.) varsity football squad. Already the school’s all-time leader in career rushing yards and rushing touchdowns, the 5’11”, 175-pound tailback is looking to lead the Warriors to a win over rival Piscataway before he looks ahead to the next step in his football career.
“We had a good season,” Morgan said. Franklin is 6-3 heading into Thursday’s match-up. “It could’ve been better. We should be playing for a championship, but things happen. I enjoyed playing with my team. It was fun. I don’t regret anything about this season.
“This game will be fun. We play for a trophy. It’s a huge rivalry game.”
In addition to those career marks, Morgan holds single game school records for rushing yards (287) and carries (38). He set the latter two marks as a sophomore in 2009.
