Cavs Showing High Interest In Northside’s Ferebee

Northside (Roanoke, VA) featured one major 2012 class recruit on its roster this season in Dakota Jackson . Vikings head coach Burt Torrence, whose team finished the 2011 season with an 11-1 overall record that included an undefeated regular season, believes he has another major college prospect in junior defensive end Demetreus Ferebee .

Virginia has not offered but is showing strong interest in the promising prospect.

Demetreus Ferebee is pretty high on the lists of Virginia Tech and Virginia,” Torrence said. “UVa was down here in school the Monday after the Tech/UVa game getting highlight film and his transcripts. Demetreus is a 6’5″, 235-pound defensive end we think will be highly recruited. He ran a 4.8-second 40 at Virginia’s camp in the summer. He’s a special athlete. I think he’ll get some opportunities like [Virginia Tech-bound tight end] Dakota.”

Ferebee earned first-team all-district and second-team all-region honors for his play this season.
