Roddy Peters was terrific for Suitland (District Heights, MD) this past season. The 6’3″ point guard, a rising senior, averaged 23 points per game while leading the Rams to a 16-8 record and an appearance in the 4A South Region championship game. Peters totaled 94 points in three regional playoff games, including 35 points in the 4A South semifinal win.

As a result of his play this year, both in high school and on the AAU circuit (he’s averaging 22 points per game in AAU), Peters is seeing an uptick in the amount of major Division 1 interest he is receiving.

“A lot of schools are looking at me. Not many have offered, but a lot are showing interest,” Peters said.

Georgetown, Maryland, Virginia and Virginia Tech are among those showing very serious interest. None have offered, but Peters says he has spoken recently with coaches from all four programs. He has been invited to attend camp at each of these schools this summer.
