Peach State TE Names Favorite

Lambert (Suwanee, GA) tight end Chris Laye, a junior, does not plan on waiting too long to make his college choice. The 6’5″, 240-pound prospect has a timetable in mind, and right now he has a clear favorite as well.

“I think I’m going to go ahead and commit in the spring,” Laye said. “Maybe mid-spring, but probably toward the end of it. I’ll see where I’m at.”

Boston College, Vanderbilt, and Virginia have verbally offered (no school is allowed to extend written offers until August before a prospect’s senior season). North Carolina, Oklahoma, Stanford, and Wake Forest are among the schools showing serious interest, with the Sooners perhaps closing in on an offer according to Laye.

Of the schools that have offered, Laye attended camp at Virginia last summer, watched a game at Boston College last fall, and attended camp and a game at Vanderbilt last year. The Lambert standout’s lone trip to Charlottesville was enough to put the Cavaliers on top.
