LB/FB Wingo-Reeves Heading To UVa

Monacan (Richmond, VA) senior Connor Wingo-Reeves has de-committed from Temple and will instead sign with the University of Virginia. The 6’3″, 220-pound linebacker/fullback prospect made the switch early Sunday afternoon, shortly after landing an offer from the Cavaliers.

“I had been committed to Temple, but UVa actually offered today and I decided it would be best for me to de-commit from Temple and commit to UVa,” Wingo-Reeves said. “It’s closer to home. It’s hard to turn down an education like that. It just felt like a good fit overall.”

Grandson of Virginia Tech Hall of Fame athlete Sterling Wingo, who excelled in football, baseball, and track for the Hokies, Connor started at linebacker for four years on Monacan’s varsity football squad. He earned second-team all-Dominion district honors at linebacker as a sophomore and first-team all-district honors each of the past two seasons.

Wingo-Reeves played linebacker and tight end in 2012.
