UVa released its pre-spring roster last week. Before I tackle the class of 2014 recruiting needs for the defensive line and linebacker positions, let’s take a look at some notable developments from last week’s release.
– Defensive end Courtnye Wynn , who would have been a red-shirt freshman this coming season, is no longer on the team. With Wynn gone, I expect incoming freshmen Max Valles to start out his Cavalier career at defensive end instead of tight end. Rising junior Zach Swanson’s move back to tight end from fullback opens the door for Valles to play defense.
– Rising sophomore Trent Corney is now listed at defensive end.
