Peach State RB Commits To UVa

Multiple outlets report and TheSabre.com has confirmed that Jordan Ellis , running back out of Peachtree Ridge High School (Suwanee, GA), has verbally committed to the University of Virginia. Ellis, who also had offers from Miami (OH) and Western Kentucky and interest from major FBS programs such as Arkansas and Wisconsin, gives the Hoos seven commitments in the class of 2014.

The 5’10”, 210-pound Ellis rushed for 850 yards and nine touchdowns in his junior season while sharing carries with fellow class of 2014 prospect Walden Davis. Ellis showed he could carry the load, though, rushing for 207 yards and three touchdowns on 27 carries in a big win over Mountain View. Davis was sidelined with an injury during that game.

Ellis committed to the Hoos while on Grounds on an unofficial visit. He is Virginia’s third class of 2014 commit in the past two weeks.

Stay tuned for more from Ellis in the coming days. Also stay tuned to TheSabre.com for coverage of Virginia football’s one-day camp that takes place on Saturday, June 8. It is UVa’s first one-day camp of 2013. Also, we’ll have the latest on another recruiting visitor, Gilman (Baltimore, MD) linebacker Melvin Keihn , who is expected on Grounds tomorrow.
