Crossover Scheduling Frustrates Fans

Even with a redshirt year in 2013, Taquan Mizzell still wouldn’t face NC State in his career.

The ACC announced the league’s 12-year schedule for rotating division crossover opponents last week. It’s safe to say that fans from schools around the league didn’t jump for joy when reading the news. Conference expansion along with this crossover opponent model has destroyed regular meetings with teams in the other division and, simply put, fans don’t like it.

The reason boils down to regional rivalries with a pinch of nostalgia. When it comes to crossover opponents, there’s not enough of either.
