With nearly a week of practice under their belts, several players have made an early impression for the Virginia football team.

Naturally some of the true freshmen drew attention early in the week as Hoo fans got their first look at the incoming class. Taquan “Smoke” Mizzell created some oohs and ahs, while the freshmen O-Line works together on the third team. Defensive tackles Donte Wilkins and Tyrell Chavis figure into the depth chart on the D-Line.

Meanwhile, some returning players have made plays too. Redshirt freshman linebacker Mark Hall and sophomore defensive end Trent Corney stole the highlights with big interceptions on back-to-back days for example. David Watford appeared to take control of the quarterback competition. During Thursday’s media practice, Dominique Terrell showed his versatility with a catch, a run, and a pass.
