If you read through the bios of Virginia’s projected starters on the defensive line, you’ll find an interesting pattern from their final years of high school football. Sacks. And a lot of them. With new defensive coordinator Jon Tenuta and an aggressive 4-3 scheme in town, the front four hopes to produce some flashbacks in orange and blue.
Brent Urban , David Dean , Eli Harold , and Jake Snyder all tallied double digit sack totals before arriving at UVa. Urban posted 10 as a junior in Canada, while Dean had 11 at Green Run in Virginia Beach. Harold piled up 16 sacks his senior season at Ocean Lakes and Snyder topped them all with 24 at Deep Run.
