Burlington (Cummings, N.C.) senior offensive tackle Will Richardson has verbally committed to the University of Virginia, but an experience at a camp at a Big 10 power served as the spark he needed to ultimately become a major college football prospect.

“I was at a Ohio State camp after the end of my sophomore year. Some of the coaches personally told me I needed to lose weight, to be in the 310 or 320-pound area,” recalled Richardson, who weighed in at 350 pounds around that time. “For a college coach to tell me I can be a star athlete if I lose weight, I can’t even tell you how much that helped me.”
