Jackson Feeling Good About OLB

Woodgrove (Purcellville, VA) rising senior Jordan “JJ” Jackson was in Charlottesville this past Saturday, watching his future team in action, talking football with defensive coordinator Jon Tenuta, and getting to know fellow University of Virginia football commitments. Following the visit, the 6’4″, 220-pound Jackson is excited about the new Virginia defensive coordinator’s initial plans for him.

“I’m totally comfortable now with outside linebacker,” said Jackson, who also could develop into a hand-on-the-ground defensive end. He primarily plays with a hand on the ground at Woodgrove.

“Outside linebacker has a little bit of everything. I’d have the opportunity to drop back and rush the quarterback. In high school, I don’t think I get to use 100-percent of my athleticism. My main job is to get after the quarterback. I feel I’ll get to use everything by playing outside linebacker.”

As a linebacker, Jackson will work directly under Tenuta, who coaches linebackers in addition to his duties as defensive coordinator.
