– Clearwater Central Catholic (Clearwater, FL) lost to Tampa Catholic in overtime to drop to 1-1 on the season. LB/TE Caanan Brown and company look to get back in the win column this week in a match-up against Jesuit.
– TE Evan Butts and Episcopal Academy (Newtown Square, PA) defeated Interboro, 21-7, to improve to 2-0. The Churchmen last lost a game on November 12, 2011.
– Peachtree Ridge (Suwanee, GA) had a bye week after two straight wins to start the season. Running back Jordan Ellis rushed for over 100 yards in each of the first two games. He’ll look to keep the streak going this Friday night against Duluth.
– Upland (CA), which boasts UVa cornerback/wide receiver recruit Jeffery Farrar , lost to Oaks Christian 57-28. Upland is 0-2 heading into Friday night’s contest at Jordan High School.
– Woodgrove (Purcellville, VA) lost to Tuscarora, 21-14, to fall to 1-1 on the year. UVa outside linebacker/defensive end recruit JJ Jackson and the Wolverines have a bye week this week before taking the field against Champe on September 20.
– Chancellor (Fredericksburg, VA), featuring 4-star offensive lineman Steven Moss , fell to Eastern View to drop to 0-2 on the season. The Chargers face a tough challenge this week against undefeated Massaponax, which is led by Virginia Tech-bound defensive end Vinny Mihota .
– Cummings (Burlington, N.C.), which is led by massive UVa-bound offensive tackle Will Richardson , lost by six to Williams to fall to 0-3. Ben L. Smith is up next this Friday night.
