Cutler To Be At FUMA For One Year

Fork Union Military Academy (VA) postgraduate head coach John Shuman said that quarterback Corwin Cutler will need a full postgraduate year before heading off to Charlottesville. There was talk of Cutler, a 6’4″, 185-pound signal caller who signed with the Hoos in the class of 2013, perhaps being able to enroll at UVa this coming January. Now, though, it appears he’ll enroll next summer assuming he does what is needed academically.

Coach Shuman says that Cutler has had a hiccup in his short time at FUMA, adding that the situation was “nothing major.” The longtime coach did not go into specifics but the general indication is that the issue is related to adjusting to the military lifestyle. Cutler remains at Fork Union and remains a firm commitment to Virginia.

Health-wise, Cutler has taken the field in at least one game this season, having worked his way back from a devastating knee injury suffered last November while at Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach, VA). “Turtle” earned AAA VHSCA first-team all-state honors for his play his senior season.
