Virginia Gets Last Shot With Nnadi

UVa has landed one defensive tackle in the class of 2014. He is 5-star Andrew Brown, who enrolled at Virginia in January. Mike London is hoping to add a 4-star d-tackle to the mix as well, but he has to make up some ground to do so.

Derrick Nnadi arrived on Grounds Friday night, beginning the fifth and final official visit of his recruiting process. The 6’2″, 300-pound Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach, VA) senior traveled to Florida State and Penn State for officials in December and went to Ohio State and Virginia Tech in January.

Ocean Lakes head coach Chris Scott confirmed that Virginia is on the outside looking in, a position the Cavaliers have been in the past few months after leading earlier in the process. Coach London and company do get to make the final impression, however, before National Signing Day, which is Wednesday, February 5.

“UVa was the favorite early on. Then after a while passed, it was Virginia Tech. Then, with the (official) visit to Florida State and Derrick finally being able to see them, plus I guess the excitement of the season, I think Florida State at least pulled even with Virginia Tech,” Scott said following Nnadi’s Virginia Tech visit.
