Wilkins Watches Future Team In Action

Isaiah Wilkins, a 6’8” combo forward and University of Virginia recruit, hasn’t been able to make it to Charlottesville for a game this season. So when the Cavaliers traveled to Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech this past Saturday, the Greater Atlanta Christian (Atlanta, GA) senior took advantage to watch his future team in person.

“It was a lot of fun,” Wilkins said of the Virginia/Georgia Tech game. He arrived an hour beforehand to watch the Cavaliers shoot around and stayed afterwards to talk briefly with players and coaches. “I was six rows behind the bench, so I was pretty close to be able to see and watch. Actually, it was a good UVa turnout. I was really impressed. The team played well. They don’t care who gets the credit so long as they win.”

The camaraderie among Virginia’s players, as well as their unselfish play, impressed Wilkins.

“Besides the coaches, that’s one of the main reasons why I chose the school – how I fit in with the team,” Wilkins said.
