Clark Reflects On UVa’s Junior Day

When we last checked in with Rockbridge County (Lexington, VA) offensive tackle Austin Clark, he had just taken in Virginia Tech’s Junior Day on February 8. The 6’6”, 290-pound junior has since visited the University of Tennessee and the University of Virginia, the latter being the school he trekked to this past Saturday.

“I definitely had a great time,” said Clark, who had been to Virginia several times before this latest experience. “It was cool getting to see all the coaches and to see my friends. The biggest part for me was to see Coach Wach (UVa offensive line coach Scott Wachenheim) and Coach London do the coaching part. I got to sit in on an offensive line meeting. I saw Coach Wach break things down there, and then I saw him out on the field and running drills. That was cool.”

Clark seemed to appreciate the message he received from the Virginia coaches.

“Their message is that they want me there and they’d love to have me. They said I’m welcome any time I want to go there. I have an open door. I can call any time. That was really cool,” he said.
