Howard To Announce; Graham Sets Visits

One Virginia men’s basketball target will announce his college choice this evening, while another has scheduled two official visits as he works toward making his college decision.

Franklin Howard, a 6’4” combo guard out of Paul VI (Fairfax, VA), is celebrating his birthday by making his college commitment. Howard, a class of 2015 recruit, will announce his decision on Comcast Sportsnet tonight at 10 p.m. Virginia is a finalist along with Georgetown, Maryland, N.C. State, Ohio State and Syracuse.

Many feel as though the Orange will land the promising prospect, but stay tuned tonight to find out for sure.

(Update** – Howard committed to Syracuse)

While Howard appears set to announce, class of 2014 point guard Devonte Graham is in the process of figuring out which university he will attend. Brewster Academy (Wolfeboro, N.H.) head coach Jason Smith tweeted this past weekend that the 6’1”, 175-pound floor general has scheduled two official visits. UVa, which has offered, is one of the schools still vying for an official.

Graham signed a letter of intent with Appalachian State as a senior at Broughton High School (Raleigh, N.C.). After graduating from Broughton in the spring of 2014, Graham enrolled at Brewster Academy, where he is finishing up a postgraduate year. Appalachian State released him from his letter of intent agreement early last week, prompting a number of head coaches – including UVa’s Tony Bennett – to make their way to Brewster last week to recruit the talented prospect.
