McDonald, UVa Part Ways

UVa football’s class of 2015 class is one less after Wilson (Washington, D.C.) linebacker Kareem McDonald revealed that he will not be attending the University of Virginia.

Via Twitter, the 6’3″, 220-pound senior released a statement on December 13. The statement has been deleted from his Twitter account, but the bottom line is that McDonald will not be signing with the Hoos in February.

McDonald originally committed to Old Dominion but reneged and pledged to UVa this past summer. The Cavaliers class drops to 20 prospects, including two linebackers – Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach, VA) standout Jahvoni Simmons and Lakota West (West Chester, OH) prospect C.J. Stalker.

  1. Wasn’t this fellow a bit marginal or at least a “sleeper” as a UVA recruit? I believe he had originally committed to ODU. Were any stronger football schools in hot pursuit of him?
