BASKETBALL RECRUITS
As expected, University of Virginia basketball commits Kyle Guy and Sacha Killeya-Jones were in John Paul Jones Arena to watch the Cavaliers take on Duke. Though the Blue Devils pulled out a 69-63 victory, the future Hoos seemed upbeat.

Guy and Killeya-Jones are two of UVa’s three class of 2016 commitments. The third, point guard Ty Jerome, was unable to make it because he had a game. Also not in attendance was class of 2016 power forward/center Mamadi Diakite. The Blue Ridge School (St. George, VA) standout is in Washington D.C. while Blue Ridge is on its Mid-Winter break. Diakite has a Virginia offer and is one of UVa’s top remaining targets in the class.
St. Anne’s-Belfield (Charlottesville, VA) forward Javin Montgomery-DeLaurier was in attendance. The 6’9″ junior is getting a serious look from the Hoos but has not received an offer as of yet.
Class of 2017 point guard Matt Coleman was in JPJ last night. The 6’1″ sophomore received an offer from Virginia before he ever played a high school basketball game and remains a high priority for head coach Tony Bennett and company.
Millwood (Midlothian, VA) sophomore guard Jordan Cross was also expected to attend, but at this point we have not confirmed if he was in attendance.
FOOTBALL RECRUITS
Two seniors – Virginia Beach (VA) cornerback/athlete TJ Griffin and Miami (FL) linebacker Dominic Sheppard – are on Grounds visiting the weekend before National Signing Day for the class of 2015. Coach Mike London and company held a Junior Day on Saturday as well. Coveted junior cornerback Levonta Taylor of Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach, VA), a national-level recruit with a Virginia offer, headlined the list of uncommitted visitors for this event. – Clark Yarbrough, OL, Woodberry Forest (VA), Class of 2016, UVA offer
– Tahj Capehart, WR, Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach, VA), Class of 2017, UVA offer
– Eric Crosby, LB/DL, Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach, VA), Class of 2017, UVA offer
– Pace Academy (Atlanta, GA) head coach and former UVa star Chris Slade brought a few prospects as well, including sophomore offensive lineman Andrew Thomas (6’5″, 275 pounds) and freshman linebacker Realus George (6’1″, 240 pounds). We have not confirmed if these prospects have been offered by Virginia as of yet.
