Cole Blackman took a little time to recuperate from his junior season, but ever since the Glen Allen (VA) junior wide receiver returned to full strength he has been busy training for his final high school season as well as his college future.

“I started my full training program about two months ago. I decided to hit it hard,” Blackman said. “I’m running a 4.55-second 40 consistently now. I even hit 4.47 one day. I was feeling it (laughs). I have a lot more speed now that I have been doing my training four days a week. I ran a 4.09-second shuttle, which was even more important to me. I’ve always been more quick than fast.”

Blackman, who is 6’2” and recently weighed in at 197 pounds, participated in the 2015 U.S. Army All-American Junior Combine in San Antonio, Texas. The experience was a positive one for the Richmond area native, who earned Richmond Times-Dispatch second-team all-metro honors for his junior season performance.

“I did really well. It was a great opportunity,” Blackman said of the Army Combine. “I don’t know if you saw, but I was ranked the number two wide receiver there. The number one wide receiver got invited to the [2016 U.S. Army All-American Bowl], so I guess I did pretty good.”
