UVa Eyeing 6’10” Junior Jay Huff

As of this writing, Jay Huff has definitive scholarship offers from East Carolina and Wofford. The slender 6’10” junior forward’s skillset – he is a capable ball-handler and a very good shooter with 3-point range — has drawn interest from high major programs such as Virginia and Duke, making him a recruit to keep an eye on as the year goes on.

“He is 6’10” and super skilled, but also there is a huge window for improvement,” Voyager Academy (N.C.) head coach Mike Huff said of his son, Jay. “He can get so much better. I think what coaches see is potential.”

Where does the younger Huff stand in terms of a scholarship offer from UVa?

“I think they are figuring that out,” Coach Huff said, referring to Cavalier head coach Tony Bennett and company, who have three commitments so far in the class of 2016. “They have looked at Jay. I think they feel he is a good fit there. I would be surprised if there is not an offer from there, but recruiting is a funny thing.”
