UVa-Bound Reuter Ends HS Career With Title

“I can’t wait to be part of it. How the coaches are. How the players are. It’s exciting to know I’m going to be part of that.” – Recruit Jarred Reuter, referring to the University of Virginia men’s basketball program.

The 6’8”, 245-pound power forward prospect, who arrives on Grounds for good on June 15, just completed his senior season at Brewster Academy (Wolfeboro, N.H.). Reuter’s career ended on a high note with Brewster (34-1) capturing a second consecutive National Prep School Championship with an 87-53 win over Florida’s IMG Academy two days ago (click here to watch a full replay of this game).

“It was a good year. It was really successful because we won a lot of games,” said Reuter, who arrived at Brewster Academy in 2013, his junior year. “Individually, it was tough being out for a while. It was just a great year as a team. We all sacrificed to be as good a team as we could be. It was a great year.”

A thumb injury sidelined Reuter from mid-November through mid-January. He has missed significant time due to injury before, playing very little as a freshman at St. Mark’s because of a foot injury. Thankfully, the thumb injury did not sideline Reuter for the entire season, as he was able to return on January 16 and play the rest of the way.
