Five-Star VJ King Planning UVa Visit

When interviewed by several reporters following last Saturday morning’s session of the Nike EYBL in Hampton, Paul VI (Fairfax, VA) small forward V.J. King said “nothing has really changed” in terms of his recruitment. The 6’6”, 195-pound junior boasts an impressive list of scholarship offers, but at this point he has yet to narrow the extensive list that includes Arizona, Connecticut, Georgetown, Kansas, Louisville, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State and Virginia, among others.

King didn’t disclose much in terms of possible favorites, saying: “It’s a whole bunch of schools I’m looking at. I try to stay away from giving out lists because I don’t want to leave anyone out.”

We do know, however, which schools he has been to at this point. The list includes Connecticut, Georgetown, North Carolina, Ohio State and UVa. King has yet to take any official visits – look for those to come this fall because he has not yet taken the SAT – but does plan to make some unofficial trips soon, including one to UVa. He was in Charlottesville earlier this year to see the Hoos take on Louisville.

“It wasn’t a visit. It was just for a game. I go on a visit (to UVa) I think towards the end of May,” King said.
