Week In Review: Jordan Mack Gets TD, INT In Win

Of the 22 players who have committed to UVa football’s class of 2016, five played in regular season openers this past week. Three came away with double-digit victories, while two saw their teams go down in defeat. Another commit earned a postseason all-star invite last week.

Here is the latest in this week’s “Week In Review”…

Cole Blackman, WR, Glen Allen (VA)

Glen Allen has not yet played a regular season game, but Blackman did receive some good news last week when he earned an invitation to play in the Blue/Grey All-American Bowl in Tampa, Florida.

Deedrick Daniels Jr., CB/WR, Chamberlain (Tampa, FL)

Chamberlain dropped its season opener to Bloomingdale by a score of 34-15.

Tre Harbison, RB, Crest (Shelby, N.C.)

Harbison rushed for two touchdowns as Crest (1-0) defeated South Point in its season opener. Crest turned an 8-point game into an 18-point victory with a late surge. Click here for the game story.

Ben Knutson, OL, Penn (Mishawaka, IN)

Knutson helped pave the way for 340 yards rushing and 5 touchdown runs as Penn defeated Valparaiso, 34-0, in its season opener. Click here for the game summary.

Jordan Mack, S, Wesleyan (Norcross, GA)

Mack got it done on both sides of the ball in helping Wesleyan to a 56-0 win over Walker in its season opener. Click here for the game story. The Virginia-bound prospect’s 1-yard touchdown run opened the scoring. He added an interception as well.

Robert Snyder, LB, Collins Hill (Suwanee, GA)

Collins Hill took a 22-7 lead into halftime of its season opener against Dacula. Unfortunately, the Eagles surrendered 29 unanswered points and were on the wrong end of a 36-22 decision. Click here for the game story.
