University of Virginia football head coach Bronco Mendenhall admitted at his National Signing Day presser that he and his staff needed to get caught up on 2017 Class recruiting. It appears they are making some serious headway in terms of offers, extending at least six new scholarship offers this past week. Here is the rundown…
– Otis Anderson Jr., All-Purpose Back, 5’11”, 170 pounds, University Christian (Jacksonville, FL)
In addition to Virginia, Anderson Jr. claims scholarship offers from Bowling Green, Florida Atlantic, Iowa State, Middle Tennessee State, Southern Miss and Toledo.
– Ellis Brooks, Linebacker, 6’1″, 225 pounds, Benedictine (Richmond, VA)
Indiana, Notre Dame and Virginia all offers Brooks last Thursday. The talented in-state prospect now claims 15 scholarship offers in total, with Duke, Michigan, North Carolina, NC State, Pittsburgh, South Carolina and Virginia Tech among those on the list. Brooks took an unofficial visit to Georgia this past Saturday.
– Michael Carter, Running Back, 5’9″, 190 pounds, Navarre (FL)
UVA offered a pair of Navarre juniors last week in Michael Carter and Aaron Mitchell. Carter, a highly regarded tailback who missed most of his junior season with a torn ACL, has been offered by Colorado, Florida, Florida Atlantic, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
– Jalen Holston, Running Back, 5’11”, 200 pounds, Stockbridge (GA)
Charlotte, Colorado State, Duke, Florida, NC State, and now Virginia have offered Holston.
– Aaron Mitchell, Linebacker, 6’1″, 210 pounds, Navarre (FL)
Last Thursday, UVA became the first FBS program to offer Mitchell, who plays linebacker and running back for Navarre.

– Jeremy Singleton, Wide Receiver/Defensive Back, Brother Martin (New Orleans, LA)
Cincinnati was the first school to offer Singleton, who now boasts 11 offers in total. Arizona, Arkansas, Arkansas State, Ball State, Colorado State, Louisiana-Monroe, Northwestern, Tulane, Vanderbilt and Virginia round out the list.
In addition to those listed above, Dominion (Sterling, VA) defensive lineman/offensive lineman Tommy Christ, Newton (Covington, GA) wide receiver Jeremiah Holloman and linebacker Jaquan Henderson (a UCLA commit), 4-star Santa Margarita (ancho Santa Margarita, CA) offensive lineman Brett Neilon, and 4-star offensive lineman Jedrick Wills Jr. of Lafayette High School in Lexington, Kentucky, were among the offers extended in the previous week.
