Virginia Offers Class Of 2018 Forward Joey Hauser

Mark Miller, Editor of the Wisconsin Basketball Yearbook, reports that the University of Virginia men’s basketball program has extended a scholarship offer to Stevens Point Area High School (Stevens Point, WI) rising junior forward Joey Hauser. Hauser also claims offers from Iowa, Iowa State, Marquette and Wisconsin.

Scout, Rivals and 247Sports rank the 6’7″ Hauser (some sites list him as being 6’8′) as a 4-star recruit. Scout ranks the talented prospect as the no. 30 overall prospect in the nation in the class of 2018.

Hauser averaged 17.8 points per game this past season for a juggernaut Stevens Point squad that went 28-0 and captured the WIAA Division 1 state championship for a second straight year. He did so alongside his brother, Sam, a senior who will attend Marquette on a basketball scholarship. Coach Tony Bennett also offered a scholarship to Sam, who visited Charlottesville before choosing the Golden Eagles.
