Gulliver Prep (Miami, FL) defensive tackle Mandy Alonso returned to the University of Virginia last month to watch his future team take on Pittsburgh. The unofficial visit was Alonso’s first to UVA since June 25.
Alonso’s June 25 experience in Charlottesville was a special one. Virginia held a one-day camp that day. Alonso participated, received a scholarship offer shortly thereafter, and verbally committed to head coach Bronco Mendenhall later in the day.
How was the standout lineman’s most recent experience at his future school?
“I loved the visit,” Alonso answered via Twitter direct message. “They showed my parents and I around again because it was my mom’s first time visiting.”
