High School Career Over, Marco Anthony Now Focuses On Start Of UVA Career

Marco Anthony spent the final Spring Break of his high school career watching his future school compete in the NCAA Tournament. Anthony, who signed a letter of intent with the University of Virginia last November and merely three months away from enrolling on Grounds, is ready to begin life as a major college student athlete.

“I think about it all the time,” Anthony said of beginning his Virginia career in three months. “It’s very exciting for me to be able to go to this next chapter of my life. I’m really excited about this new chapter of my life.”

Anthony’s high school career ended on a high note. As a senior, the 6’5”, 220-pound senior led Holmes High School (San Antonio, TX) to a 21-11 record and the school’s first playoff appearance in almost two decades. The soon-to-be Wahoo averaged 25.5 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game in 2016/2017, an improvement of five points and three rebounds per contest from his junior year.
