UVA Makes 4-Star Point Guard Elijah Weaver’s Top 12

Consensus 4-star class of 2018 point guard Elijah Weaver revealed his top 12 schools on Thursday. As his coach predicted to TheSabre.com last week, UVA is on the list.

Butler, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Missouri, NC State, Oklahoma State, Southern Cal, UCLA and Villanova made the list as well. Oklahoma State and Butler just offered the 6’4” junior this week.

Scout, Rivals, 247Sports and ESPN all rank Weaver as a 4-star prospect and a top 50 national recruit in his class. Rivals ranks Weaver as the no. 21 overall prospect in the nation in 2018 while Scout ranks him as the no. 26 junior in the country.

Virginia’s Tony Bennett traveled to Oldsmar Christian on March 28, impressing both Weaver and OCHS head coach John Bianchi. Of Bennett’s meeting with Weaver, Bianchi said: “It went really good. [Coach Bennett] made it really enjoyable for him and showed us how much he cares. I would say it was all positive.”

“Coach Bennett’s message must have been good because Elijah really liked it,” Bianchi said (click here to read the full EDGE report on Weaver).
