Senior Forward Francesco Badocchi Lands Offers From Virginia, Illinois

While on the University of Virginia’s Grounds on an official visit, Bishop Miege (Mission Viejo, KS) class of 2017 forward Francesco Badocchi scored a scholarship offer from Cavalier head coach Tony Bennett. The offer was first revealed over Twitter by Bishop Miege assistant coach Kevin Wiesner.

Within an hour of Virginia’s offer being revealed, news broke that Illinois, the school the 6’7” senior officially visited immediately before leaving for Charlottesville, had offered as well.

Bishop Miege head coach Rick Zych told Charlottesville Daily Progress reporter Andrew Ramspacher that Badocchi has plans to officially visit Boise State “early next week.” Badocchi can make five official visits if he so chooses. Illinois and UVA are the first destinations.

In two years at Bishop Miege, Badocchi helped the school’s boys varsity basketball team achieve back-to-back 4A state championships. He averaged 13.9 points per game as a senior and scored 21 points in the 2016/2017 title game.
