Virginia Football Extends New Recruiting Offers

Bronco Mendenhall's Virginia football team remains on the recruiting trail.

Virginia football coach Bronco Mendenhall said a second flurry of commitments was possible after the Hoos picked up four commits in three days last month. While UVA continues to wait on its next verbal, it isn’t waiting to get more lines in the offer water.

Over the past 10 days, at least seven recruits have Tweeted about new offers from the Cavaliers. Let’s take a quick look.

Tyler Davis

Davis is the latest prospect from Florida to catch Virginia’s eye. He plays at Wekiva for former UVA player Rich Bedesem. He sits at a major position of need as a defensive tackle and is listed at 6’2” and 268 pounds. He is a class of 2019 recruit.

Here are Davis’ Hudl sophomore highlights:

Dean Ferguson

Another class of 2019 recruit, Ferguson plays at Potomac Falls in Virginia. He’s a free safety/outside linebacker prospect at 6’2” and 208 pounds. Running backs coach Mark Atuaia stopped by PFHS recently.

Here are Ferguson’s Hudl sophomore highlights:

Nigel Fitzgerald

A North Carolina prospect, Fitzgerald projects as a receiver/tight end at the next level. The 2018 recruit is listed at 6’4” and 210 pounds with 4.6 40-yard dash speed per his Hudl profile. He plays at Dudley High in Greensboro.

Cam Goode

TheSabre.com recruiting analyst Chris Horne reported Goode’s offer, his 20th, from this weekend’s spring festival. Another nose tackle prospect, he plays at St. John’s in Washington DC where he’s listed at 6’0” and 321 pounds. He too is in the class of 2019.

Here are Goode’s Hudl sophomore highlights:

DeAndre Hollins

Another Florida offer, Hollins plays cornerback and receiver for Jefferson High near Tampa. The 2018 recruit measures 6’2” and 185 pounds with 4.56 40-yard dash speed. If he commits to Virginia, he’ll join at least three others from Florida (Case Gatlin, Tavares Kelly, and Wyatt Rector).

Here are Hollins’ Hudl junior highlights:

Treyson Potts

A running back/cornerback recruit out of Williamsport High in Pennsylvania, Potts fits into the class of 2019. He’s listed at 5’10” and 183 pounds with 4.57 40-yard dash speed. Keep an eye on state schools Pitt and Penn State for offers for the youngster; neither have offered per 247 Sports.

Here are Potts’ sophomore Hudl highlights:

Noah Shattuck

With Mendenhall clearly stating the plan to take as many as seven offensive linemen in each of the two classes, it’s not surprising to see a 2018 offer to a player like Shattuck. He’s a 6’6” 295-pound guard/tackle out of Alabama. He plays at Enterprise High.
