Virginia Football Keeps The Offers Coming During This Evaluation Period

Virginia football is staying aggressive in terms of dispensing new scholarship offers during this Football Bowl Subdivision Evaluation Period. Rising juniors and a rising sophomore are included in the latest batch of offers from the Cavaliers.

Warren Burrell

The 6’0”, 175-pound cornerback hails from North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, Georgia. A member of the class of 2019, Burrell boasts four offers: Virginia, Mississippi State, South Carolina, and Wake Forest. Demon Deacons head coach Dave Clawson was the first to offer.

Aeneas DiCosmo

DiCosmo, a 6’3”, 220-pound rising junior defensive end/outside linebacker, attends top New Jersey prep program Bergen Catholic (Oradell). Toledo offered the last week of April. On May 5, DiCosmo scored offers from UVA as well as Boston College.

Jesse Hanson

Virginia becomes the second FBS offer for the 6’5”, 290-pound Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA) rising junior lineman, who previously received a scholarship offer from Coastal Carolina. Hanson attended a spring practice in Charlottesville the week before the 2017 Spring Football Festival.

Jake Hornibrook

6’4”, 260-pound class of 2019 lineman Jake Hornibrook claims Virginia to be his first scholarship offer. Hornibrook hails from Malvern Prep in Pennsylvania.

Coziah Izzard

Just a freshman, Izzard, a defensive end/outside linebacker, boasts great size at 6’4”, 230 pounds. He hails from St. Vincent Pallotti in Laurel, Maryland. Other reported offers included Maryland, Buffalo, East Carolina, Michigan State, and Wake Forest.

Malik Washington

This dynamic rising junior boasts offers from Auburn, Cincinnati, Duke, Kansas State, Maryland, Mississippi State, Purdue, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Wake Forest and Western Kentucky. The past week has been particularly good to the 5’9”, 185-pound wide receiver/defensive back, who has scored six offers (including UVA) in that time.

Washington hails from Parkview High School (Lilburn, GA), which is Cavalier rising sophomore nose tackle Juwan Moye’s alma mater.
