Class of 2018 point guard Jahvon Quinerly, a player ranked as a 5-star by 247Sports and ESPN and among the top 35 prospects overall in his class by the four main national recruiting outlets (Scout, Rivals, 247 and ESPN), revealed his top seven schools late last night. UVA made the list along with Arizona, Kansas, Seton Hall, Stanford, UCLA and Villanova.

The Hudson Catholic (Jersey City, N.J.) star has long been at the top of the 2018 wish list for head coach Tony Bennett, who offered a scholarship in April of 2016. Bennett has maintained consistent contact throughout, and Quinerly made an unofficial visit to Virginia following the 2016 NBPA Top 100 Camp in Charlottesville.

MadeHoops.com spoke with Quinerly regarding his top seven reveal. The 6’1”, 170-pound rising senior indicated this was a family decision involving comfort level with each program. Quinerly added that official visits are “most likely” the next step as he works toward a decision (click here to read the entire Made Hoops article).

Quinerly, who is rated No. 22 in the 2018 Class by 247 and ESPN and no. 26 overall by Rivals, has been excellent on the Under Armour AAU circuit this spring. Through eight games, he has led Sports University to a 7-1 record while averaging 19 points (60% FG, 52% 3PFG, 90% FT) and 4.13 rebounds per game. Quinerly has played the most minutes (219) of anyone on Sports University this AAU season.
