Virginia Football’s Latest Wave Of Scholarship Offers

The Virginia football program wrapped up camp season with four camps last week – “Monday Madness” on June 19, “Friday Night Lights” on June 23, and a 7-on-7 tournament and lineman camp on June 24. Coach Bronco Mendenhall had a busy week extending scholarship offers to prospects ranging from the class of 2018 to the class of 2020.

CLASS OF 2018

CHRISTIAN HAYNES, DL/OL, 6’4”, 290 pounds, Bowie (MD)

Florida International, Navy, and now Virginia are among the 15 offers Haynes is considering.

RAIQWON O’NEAL, DL/OL, 6’4”, 265 pounds, Conway (S.C.)

O’Neal boasts 30 scholarship offers, including one from Virginia last week. Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Michigan, NC State, Penn State, Purdue, and Rutgers are among the other offers the two-way lineman with a 3.72 GPA is considering.

ISAIAH SPENCER, QB/ATH, 6’5”, 200 pounds, Gloucester (VA)

Six-foot-five, 200-pound Isaiah Spencer mans the quarterback and free safety positions at Gloucester High School in Virginia. According to this article by Ultimaterecruit.com, the talented athlete performed at quarterback, wide receiver, tight end, and outside linebacker in Charlottesville last Friday, ultimately earning an offer as an outside linebacker.

Spencer has an offer from UVA-Wise and interest from Temple and William & Mary.

CLASS OF 2019

SAVION JACKSON, DL, 6’3”, 245 pounds, Clayton (N.C.), Other offers include Boston College, Duke, Florida, North Carolina, NC State, Penn State, Pitt, South Carolina, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.

LUKE MCCAFFREY, QB, 6’2”, 180 pounds, Valor Christian (Highlands Ranch, CO), Other offers include Colorado, Colorado State, Duke, Michigan, Ohio State, UCLA, and Washington.

McCaffrey is the son of former Stanford and NFL wide receiver Ed McCaffrey. Christian, who was selected in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, is one of three older brothers. Older brother Max played at Duke and older brother Dylan is a quarterback who signed with Michigan in the 2017 Class.

UVA rising redshirt freshman offensive lineman Dillon Reinkensmeyer is a product of Valor Christian.

JACOB MONK, DL/OL, 6’3”, 290 pounds, Corinth Holders (Wendell, N.C.), Other offers include Duke, East Carolina, NC State and West Virginia.

D’SEAN PERRY, LB/DE, 6’3”, 195 pounds, Gulliver Prep (Miami, FL), Other offers include Central Florida, Syracuse and Temple.

Former UVA linebacker Earl Simms is the head coach at Gulliver Prep. The Hoos will boast two of Simms’ former players on the roster this coming season — redshirt sophomore Dominic Sheppard and true freshman Mandy Alonso.

BLAKE CORUM, RB, 5’9”, 180 pounds, St. Vincent Pallotti (Laurel, MD)

ANTON HARRISON, DL/OL, 6’5”, 270 pounds, Archbishop Carroll (Washington, D.C.), Other offers include East Carolina, Florida International, Maryland, Pitt, Syracuse, and Wake Forest.

CURTIS JACOBS, WR/S, 6’3”, 190 pounds, McDonogh (Baltimore, MD), Other offers include Connecticut and Temple.
