Georgia Guard Will Richardson Reportedly Lands Virginia Offer

Multiple outlets, including 247Sports (tweet below) and Rivals, are reporting that Virginia has offered Will Richardson, a class of 2018 combo guard out of Liberty County High School in Hinesville, Georgia. The 6’4” prospect is fresh off a standout performance last week at the Nike EYBL Peach Jam.

Playing for the Each 1 Teach 1 AAU program, Richardson averaged 17.2 points (48% FG, 74% FT, 33% 3PFG), 5.5 assists, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.8 turnovers per game in six games at Peach Jam. His play resulted in an offer from UVA as well as one from Miami. Previously reported offers include Arizona State, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Ohio State, Rutgers, South Florida, Tennessee, Wichita State and Xavier.

In addition to being a 247Sports 4-star, Richardson is rated a 4-star prospect by Scout.com, which ranks him as the no. 78 overall prospect in the nation in the class of 2018. Rivals also has the Peach State standout as the no. 78 overall prospect in the nation while ESPN ranks him at no. 82 overall and the no. 16 point guard.

We have Richardson listed as a “wing” in our updated Virginia Men’s Basketball Scholarship Picture page. He becomes the second known class of 2018 recruit to receive an offer from the Cavaliers since the Live Evaluation Period began this month, joining Cedar Falls (IA) point guard AJ Green.
