Louisiana Combo Guard Jared Butler Reportedly Visiting Virginia

Riverside Academy (Reserve, LA) combo guard Jared Butler is on an official visit at the University of Virginia, Rivals.com National Basketball Analyst Corey Evans reported Thursday night (August 31).

Butler, a 6’2”, 175-pound rising senior, recently narrowed his college options to Alabama, Baylor, Southern Cal, Texas, Virginia and Wichita State. UVA would be the first school to receive an official visit, though the standout backcourt prospect has taken unofficial visits to Alabama and Texas.

ESPN, Rivals and Scout rate Butler as a 4-star level recruit. While Rivals ranks him as the no. 123 rising senior in the nation, Scout (no. 75) and ESPN (no. 83) have him among the top 100 class of 2018 recruits in the country.

Endless Motor produced the below highlight video of Butler in action during the 2017 Nike EYBL Session II. The Louisiana native played for the Mississippi Express squad this spring and summer. UVA came through with an offer in July.
