The inaugural FBS Football Early Signing Period begins December 20 and lasts through December 22. Prospects can wait to sign on the dotted line during the traditional Signing Period, which begins Wednesday, February 7. The Benjamin School (Palm Beach Gardens, FL) offensive tackle prospect Martin Weisz will not be one of those prospects.
In an interview with TheSabre.com, Weisz emphatically confirmed his plans to sign with the University of Virginia later this month.
“I can’t wait to sign my name on that paper and make it official,” wrote Weisz, one of 19 class of 2018 prospects who have verbally committed to Virginia, in a Twitter interview. UVA also has a commitment from JUCO QB Bryce Perkins.
“I have been waiting for signing day ever since I had dreams to play D1 football,” Weisz continued. And now, the NCAA can let me do it earlier? Yes! I will take advantage of that, UVA all the way.”
