Virginia football free safety Quin Blanding has accepted an invitation to the 2018 Reese’s Senior Bowl, where he will showcase his talents alongside other top collegiate seniors, including Cavalier teammates Kurt Benkert, Andrew Brown, and Micah Kiser.

The 2018 Senior Bowl is scheduled for January 27 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama.

The ultra-productive Blanding will leave Virginia as a 4-year starter and the school’s all-time leading tackler. As a senior the Virginia Beach (VA) native has racked up 121 tackles, which ranks no. 2 in the ACC and no. 15 in the nation. His senior season performance has resulted in numerous postseason accolades, including first-team all-ACC for a third straight season as well as 2017 Walter Camp All-American second-team honors.

As described in VirginiaSports.com’s official release, the Senior Bowl “is the nation’s most unique football game and football’s premier senior showcase event. It annually features the country’s best senior collegiate football players and top NFL draft prospects on teams representing the North and South that are coached by the entire coaching staffs of two National Football League teams. Only college seniors and fourth-year junior graduates are eligible for the game. Fourth-year junior graduates must have graduated by the December prior to the game to be eligible.”
